A great visit!

Well... unfortunately, this post is long overdue! I forgot my username and password into this blog! Yikes! I have so many usernames and different passwords to different things that I can't hardly keep up! I really need to keep them all written down somewhere! Anyways.... Evan and I had a wonderful visit down to Raleigh to visit with my roommate Chelsea and her family! It was our first road trip by ourselves nevertheless! I have to say Evan did GREAT! I only had to pull over once on the way down to feed him, and on the way back he only screamed for the last 30 minutes...haha... now that last part was the most difficult but otherwise he slept and did great so I really can't complain too much! ;) But, it was really cool to see little Noah who shares the same birthday as Evan! It was neat seeing their differences in growth and what they are doing type things! I think they are both growing and progressing quite well! It was also fun being around someone who has a baby the same age as mine. Most of my friends either had a baby almost 2 years ago (now), or are getting ready to have another one by the end of this year! I told Chelsea I almost felt a little alone in my pregnancy because I knew hardly anyone who was pregnant, and now sooooooo many people are pregnant again and are all due in november or december. So I guess when #2 comes along I'll be alone again...haha! Not only was it nice to visit with Chelsea, Jarred, and Noah, but it was really great to get out of town for a couple of days... I really needed that badly! I get so tired of being cooped up sometimes and most of my friends either don't live here anymore or are working a lot which is to be expected of course. Don't get me wrong... I'm so thankful for my situation to be able to work so early in the morning and be at home with Evan, but on those days that Ryan is gone all day especially it'll start to get a little lonely sometimes! But... it's all good! :D
Also, 1 out 2 answers to prayer concerning my work stuff... They have FINALLY gotten my annual leave straightened out! And on top of that I have a lot more hours than I thought I did! WOOHOO! i have 58 hours when I thought I'd only have like 20! so I'm so thrilled and it makes up a little bit for having to wait for 6 long mont
hs for them to get this straightened out. The other prayer request I'm still waiting on is finding out if they will accommodate me with my shift that I requested.... and that's a big one! so keep praying! Thank you all so much for your prayers!
Also, some exciting news, it looks like we are going to be selling our church building and purchasing new nicer land to build a bigger church! So that's
really exciting!
Well, Evan is asleep so I should go join him while I can!Enjoy some pics
of my visit with chelsea and noah!

2nd tooth has come!

Well, Evan's second tooth has made its debut finally... he overall did a WHOLE lot better with this tooth than the first one. But, I can definitely always tell when he is cutting a tooth, just extra fussy mainly and doesn't sleep as well. But I am thankful for the little guy... he's such a good baby. It does make me scared to have another sometimes because of how good he is- haha. Let's see, Evan is still all over the place with is rolling and scooting... he's starting to draw his knees upwards so I'm thinking he will crawl within the next month or so. I guess I need to be a little more prepared for when that happens!! He loves his little walker! He flies around in that thing, its so funny!
Ryan took my camera so I don't have any pictures to upload. I'm still learning how to work this blog thing, so that's why my blog is ugly and has no pictures! I can't figure it out! haha! Well I have some good news to update on my PawPaw... I guess as good as we can get at this point... we did find out that his cancer has not spread! So that's wonderful! Praise God!!! :D So thanks to everyone for their prayers! Please keep praying! He'll start chemo next week.
Next week I'm looking foward to heading down to Raleigh to visit with Chelsea (my old roommate) and Noah who was born the same day as Evan! I'm looking foward to getting these 2 together... it will be so cute!! Well I guess I'm gonna head out! Have a great week everyone and weekend!

So this past week has been quite a challenging one I guess I should say..... Evan did have his appointment on thursday.... he weighed 15 lbs 8 oz and was 27 inches long! Yes this kid is gonna be tall! haha! He did really well with his shots, of course he cries, but once its over and I'm holding him he's ok. It really does break my heart like I know it does for all the other moms out there that have to go through that with their kids.
On a sadder note, we found out on thursday also that my PawPaw has stage 4 lung cancer. Thankfully he is going to treat it and we are just praying that he will conquer and defeat this cancer! So if everyone will please keep him and my family in your prayers as this is going to be a tough ride, but I'm really believing that he's gonna pull through and defy all odds! :)
This weekend was nice and relaxing for the most part. We didn't do a whole lot. We are starting to collect some things for the beach though. We will be leaving in about 3 weeks! I can't wait! This will be Evan's first beach trip (obviously), so we are working on collecting everything we need for him! So I also think Evan is getting ready to cut his 2nd tooth. He's been a little fussy and I've been hoping that he didn't get my sickness. Which by the way I'm starting to feel better- I finally got the doctor to call me in some medication, so I'm almost all the way better! :)
Ok.... welll until next time...

ah sickness....

Well, so much for attempting to keep up with a blog... but here goes another try....

So on friday, I started feeling a bit ill with a sore throat which progressed into achiness, chills, weakness and a fever. The next morning I had to go to work and get up at 3 am (mind you), and my throat was still sore and I was still weak... the day progressed and I got a little stronger. Sunday, still sore throat and more stuffiness, and by that evening I started losing my voice and here we are on wednesday, my voice is still gone and my throat is still sore. People at work keep joking its the swine flu, I really was kind of afraid for a second. The doctor said she had no idea and that it was viral... that was a waste of $25.

So Evan has cut his first tooth... it peeked through about a couple of weeks ago just before his 6 month birthday. He didn't sleep well for like 2 weeks and then all of the sudden he was sleeping good again and so I knew he must have cut his first tooth and sure enough there it was! I must admit I was pretty nervous because I am still breastfeeding and that's like one of my biggest fears of him chomping. So I'm working on overcoming that fear currently. I think he is starting to cut the next one also a little bit.

Evan is growing soooo much! I go to the doctor tomorrow for his 6 month checkup. Of course I am dreading the shots. I usually will give him some tylenol before we go and I do think it helps. But overall he really does well with them, yeah he cries but after its over we usually have no problems! Right now he is still rolling everywhere... he's getting closer to sitting up by himself. No signs of crawling yet. He is still following in his daddy's footsteps of course! :)

Also on another note, speaking of Ryan, he is currently working on making a live album of our church praise band that he calls Background Ministries. He is recording all of our worship services and will be making a CD. Check out the website @ www.myspace.com/backgroundministries - you can listen to the first song that he got done there! I am so proud of him! He is doing a great job!

Well, I can't think of a whole lot else that's going on besides usual work drama. For those of you who know and don't know please continue to pray for my job situation as they are working on shift bids. I am asking for my early morning hours again and also for sundays off- which I REALLY need! So thank you for all your prayers!!

Until next time.....

New at this...

So I'm noticing that this blog thing is a pretty popular thing to do so I figure why not try it out? In case someone doesn't know who this is... My name is Kristen Flack (previously Kristen Ferrell). I am married to Ryan Flack and we have 2 month old son named Evan. I stole the name Flack Snacks from my husband. He used that name as a devotional that he USED to send out weekly... I miss the weekly flack snack...haha! Anyways, we live in Roanoke, VA where I work at the airport for TSA (you know the security people everyone hates...), and Ryan actually works in Christiansburg, VA at our church Victory Restoration Center as the Worship Pastor/ Administrator. I am very proud of him and how hard he works. Evan was born on Nov. 7, 2008 (my brother Trae's birthday as well). He weighed 8lbs 10oz and was 22 inches long! He's gonna be tall like his daddy. He just had a 2 month check up and now weighs 11lbs 3oz and is 24 inches long. So he is growing right on cue! Well I guess I will end this now and I will try to update as things go along!! Oh and I guess a last thing... some of Evan's progress is that he likes to talk a lot... cooing and such, he loves to play with his toys on the toy gym that he can hit. He likes to kick his legs a lot. He's a very happy and content baby! He's an excellent sleeper as well! Sleeping from like 10pm to 6am, waking up at 4am sometimes to eat. He likes to try and sleep on his side and have blankets cuddled close to his face. I love him so much and he really is so much fun!!!
